If you look at my last post you will see that I have this fantastic metaphor of my journey to become and educator. This week I want to discuss where I believe I am in this journey.
I am clearly in the incubation phase, still safe in my egg of learning and becoming a teacher. I haven't ventured out on my own into a classroom that is all mine. I am still encouraged and nurtured by fabulous teachers and mentors on my road to becoming a real live teacher.
I don't think there is any major defining attribute labeling me a chick in this metaphor other then I still get to rely on my peers for help and the teaching I do right now gets overseen and redirected as needed and nurtured so that I can become great.
Eventually, ( in three semesters!eep!!) I'll be on my own, teaching in a class room and really tossed into the world to grow and apply the things I have learned, all in an effort to be a great educator capable of inspiring future generations.
